  • Aust NZ & PIF Need to Take Punitive Measures against Fiji Junta NOW

Immediate punitive measures must be tabled by the Australian and New-Zealand legislature as well as like minded Pacific Island States to interrupt in whole economic relations with the Republic of the Fiji Islands which will seek to bring about a real change in the regionally destabilizing actions of Cmdr Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama and the policies of his illegal military led government, to bring an end to the ongoing violation and grave repression of human rights of Fiji’s peoples, indigenous Fijian institutions,  business entities and religious organizations, to compel respect for the rule of law as enshrined in our 1997 Constitution and compliance with the decision of the Fiji Court of Appeal by prescribing steps to restore democratic rule with the consent of the governed forthwith.
