• Commonwealth to Discuss Fiji at CHOGM 2009

  Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Trinidad & Tobago - biennial discussion of global & Commonwealth issues aimed at agreeing collective policies & initiatives.

  The Queen is to address the opening ceremony.

  Leaders may discuss situation in Fiji, which was suspended from the Commonwealth in Sep after refusing to hold elections in 2010.

  Fiji has been ruled by a military junta since a 2006 coup, but the junta's leader Commodore Frank Bainimarama has said elections cannot be re-instated until 2014.
