New Zealand to intervene if Frank Bainimarama turns Nasty
Iran and Libya are being ridiculed because they have used an opportunity to lambast the United Nations security council for what, in their opinion, are gross injustices over many years. A study of history bears out that there is some truth in their claims. It is unfortunate that in both their languages interpreters can emphasize the more extreme utterances.
For instance, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad states that Israel should not exist and that sounds outlandish but if you add the word `legally' - as per the UN security council - he is correct. Israel has ignored all UN directives to settle the Palestinians in designated areas since 1947. Iran, knowing that Israel possesses nuclear strike capabilities provided originally by UN security council member Great Britain, and seeing that Israel has never agreed to international inspection of its installations, concludes that forcing sanctions on her and not Israel is grossly unfair.
If New Zealand found out that Fiji had a nuclear capability and defied inspection, would we not feel justified in developing the right to respond accordingly if Commodore Bainimarama turned nasty?
In my opinion, before any further action against Iran is advocated, Israel should be forced to relinquish her nuclear capabilities, and receive cast iron guarantees of safety by the UN security council provided she herself in future abides by UN directives.
To solve the Palestine-Israeli problem both sides should agree to integrate as one semite entity.
With this one move all terrorist problems associated with US and Islam would disappear.
Muammur Gaddafi has his own agenda but his tirade at the UN resulted from the reaction to the 1988 Lockerbie bombing, which was rightly severe. The shooting down of an Iranian passenger jet in 1988 by the US Navy operating illegally in Iranian waters went with barely a whimper. The security council has been seriously misused and it is now time for urgent remedial action.
